Germination Information: I recommend these seeds only for gardeners who have experience with seeds that require a chilling period to initiate germination. The easiest approach is to sow the seeds 1/4 inch deep in a pot in fall to late winter, setting them outdoors in a spot protected from mice so they can get a natural chilling period and then germinate when conditions are right in spring. (The winter-sowing approach works well for these seeds.) If you sow after February, give the pot an artificial chilling period of about a month. The seeds generally sprout best in cool conditions (50° to 60°F), so don’t give them supplemental heat after you remove them from the refrigerator. I recommend setting them outside, instead, and they’ll sprout when they’re ready. Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive. Please read the description as well before ordering.
