Brassica juncea ‘Ruby Streaks’ (Mustard) [25 Seeds]

Description Even if you don’t plan to harvest it, ‘Ruby Streaks’ mustard (Brassica juncea) is worth planting as a fast-growing, cool-season accent or filler in flower beds and containers. The deep red, lacy leaves look so pretty set among pansies and violas, for instance, or spring bulbs. The young, tender leaves are also a colorful and flavorful addition to spring or fall salads and sandwiches. Once the weather warms up, the plants will bolt (go to flower), typically reaching 18 to 24 inches tall, with edible yellow blooms. If you don’t pull out the plants before they set seed—as you would if you’re using ‘Ruby Streaks’ as an ornamental—they will likely self-sow, creating a self-sustaining patch of spicy red greens. Full sun. Annual. Collected in July and September 2025. At least 25 seeds. Shipping to U.S. addresses only. Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
