Description ‘Marcia’s Purple Gem’ isn’t just a scaled-down version of the usual amethyst flower (Browallia americana): It’s an exquisite, distinctive little beauty perfect for pots, where you can appreciate it up close. It too produces an abundance of white-eyed blooms, but on this one, they’re a vibrant purple, on bushy plants with practically black stems to about 1 foot tall. The green foliage may also be blushed with purple. This little treasure came to me from a customer and seed friend (thank you Marcia!). Full sun to partial shade. Amethyst flower is technically a tender perennial but is mostly grown as an annual. Collected in September and October 2025. At least 25 seeds. Shipping to U.S. addresses only.
