Description ‘Mega Punk’ spike celosia (Celosia argentea var. spicata or C. spicata) produces reddish pink flower spikes and reddish green to deep red leaves on 2- to 4-foot-tall stems. It’s a showy accent in an annual or mixed border and excellent as a cut flower too. This seed strain evolved here at Hayefield many years ago, from compact ‘Punky Red’ growing next to taller ‘Wine Sparkler’. Full sun. Annual. Collected in August and September 2025.
