Germination Information: I’ve never had good luck with transplanting bachelor’s buttons, so I recommend direct-sowing outdoors in early spring (even in late fall, in warmer areas). If you prefer indoor sowing, consider using some sort of biodegradable pot so you don’t have to disturb the roots when you transplant. Either way, sowing depth is 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Cutting off the finished flowers can extend the bloom season, but if you leave some of them on the plants to form seeds, they will likely self-sow.
