Germination Information: Sow these seeds 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep in warm, bright conditions indoors from late winter through spring or outdoors in summer. Nicking the seeds and then soaking them in water for 12 to 24 hours before sowing and/or providing extra warmth from a heat mat can help to speed germination. The last time I started this species from seed, I sowed nicked-and-soaked seeds on March 5 indoors, under lights (but not on a heat mat) and they began sprouting on March 7; your experience may vary.
