Germination Information: I recommend these seeds only for patient gardeners who have experience with challenging seeds. Sow about 1/4 inch deep. Apparently, these benefit from a warm-moist period first (about 2 months), then a natural or artificial chilling period of 2 to 3 months before a return to warmth. Or, you could just sow outdoors in early fall to mid winter. If no seedlings appear the first spring, leave the seeds outdoors through the summer, fall, and winter, and look for seedlings the following year. It’s normal for germination to be slow and irregular, with most sprouting in the second year after sowing. Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.
